FAQs
Is the Xiegu X6200 suitable for POTA and portable operation?
Yes. The X6200 combines an HF/50MHz transceiver, detachable battery, automatic antenna tuner, spectrum display, and digital-mode connectivity in one compact unit. It is well suited to POTA, travel, field communications, and other portable operations.
How much transmit power does the X6200 provide?
The X6200 delivers up to 8W on SSB, CW, and FM when connected to a suitable external DC power supply. Output is up to 5W when operating from the detachable battery pack.
Does the X6200 have a built-in antenna tuner?
Yes. Its automatic antenna tuner can match antenna impedances from approximately 20 to 175 ohms. For the best efficiency, always use an antenna that is reasonably resonant on the selected band.
Can the X6200 be used for FT8 and other digital modes?
Yes. The USB-C DEV connection provides CAT control, data communication, and digital audio through the radio’s built-in USB sound interface. The X6200 also includes onboard FT8 decoding. Appropriate computer software and configuration may still be required for full digital-mode operation.
What frequencies can the X6200 receive and transmit?
The X6200 receives 0.5–30MHz, 50–54MHz, 88–108MHz WFM broadcast signals, and 108–136MHz AM aviation signals. Transmission is limited to supported amateur-radio bands and may vary according to regional regulations and firmware configuration.
