The Xiegu X6100 is a compact, self-contained HF and 50 MHz portable SDR transceiver designed for field operation, POTA, travel, emergency communications and low-power home-station use.

It combines a direct-conversion SDR architecture, a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, an automatic antenna tuner and a 4-inch high-resolution color display in one portable enclosure.

The X6100 delivers up to 10W output when connected to a suitable external DC power source and up to 5W when operating from its internal battery. It supports SSB, CW, AM, FM, RTTY and data-mode operation across the HF and 6-meter amateur bands.

Integrated USB audio and CAT control, a USB host port, microSD storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an SWR scanner and voice/CW message memories give the X6100 considerably more flexibility than a conventional portable QRP transceiver.

Transmit only on frequencies permitted by your amateur radio license and local regulations.

FAQs

Is the Xiegu X6100 good for beginners?

Yes. The X6100 combines the radio, rechargeable battery, antenna tuner, spectrum display and computer interface in one enclosure, which can simplify a first portable HF setup.

However, it is a feature-rich SDR with multiple menus and operating settings. New operators should read the manual and become familiar with power control, microphone gain, antenna tuning, filtering and battery charging before transmitting.

Does the Xiegu X6100 have a built-in antenna tuner?

Yes. The X6100 includes an automatic antenna tuner capable of matching moderate antenna impedance mismatches of approximately 4.5:1 VSWR.

The tuner is useful for portable antennas, but it cannot safely or efficiently match every random wire or severely mismatched antenna. Some antenna systems still require an appropriate transformer, counterpoise or external tuner.

Is the Xiegu X6100 suitable for POTA?

Yes. The X6100 is well suited to POTA and portable operation because it combines a rechargeable battery, automatic antenna tuner, spectrum display, SWR scanner and up to 5W battery-powered output in one compact radio.

When connected to a suitable 13.8V DC power source, output can be increased to approximately 10W.

What antennas work with the Xiegu X6100?

The X6100 is designed for a 50Ω antenna system and uses a BNC antenna connector. Compatible antennas include:

  • Resonant dipole antennas
  • Linked dipoles
  • End-fed half-wave antennas with a suitable transformer
  • Portable vertical antennas
  • Mobile HF antennas
  • Six-meter antennas
  • Portable field antennas
  • Random-wire antennas with an appropriate matching system and counterpoise

A BNC adapter may be required when using antennas or feed lines fitted with PL-259, SO-239 or other connector types.

Does the Xiegu X6100 have an internal battery?

Yes. The X6100 contains a built-in rechargeable lithium battery.

The radio provides up to approximately 5W output when operating from the internal battery. Battery runtime depends on screen brightness, audio volume, receive time, transmit power and transmit duty cycle.

For longer operating sessions or full 10W output, use a suitable regulated external DC power source within the specified 9–15V range.

How much transmit power does the Xiegu X6100 provide?

The X6100 provides up to 10W on SSB, CW and FM when connected to a suitable 13.8V external DC supply.

When operating from the internal battery, maximum output is approximately 5W. AM carrier output is approximately 2.5W on external power and 1.5W on battery power.

Can the Xiegu X6100 operate on the 6-meter band?

Yes. The X6100 supports receive coverage from 50 to 54 MHz and amateur-band transmission from approximately 50.00 to 53.99 MHz.

Actual 6-meter transmit frequencies depend on the radio’s regional version and local regulations.

Can the Xiegu X6100 be used for FT8 and other digital modes?

Yes. The X6100 includes USB control and an integrated USB sound card, allowing it to work with compatible digital-mode software.

Correct drivers, CAT settings, audio devices and software configuration are required. Set audio levels carefully and avoid excessive ALC indication or long transmissions at unnecessarily high power.

Does the Xiegu X6100 receive FM broadcast or the aviation band?

No. The standard X6100 receive coverage is 0.5–30 MHz and 50–54 MHz.

Reception of 88–108 MHz FM broadcast and 108–136 MHz aviation frequencies is a feature associated with the newer X6200, not the X6100.

How long does shipping take?

After dispatch, delivery is handled by DHL Express and is estimated at 3–7 business days, depending on destination and customs processing.

Tracking information will be provided after the order has been dispatched.

Is the Xiegu X6100 covered by a warranty?

Yes. X6100 radios purchased from XieguRadios.com are covered by the XieguRadios.com limited warranty against eligible defects in materials and workmanship.

Please review the Warranty Information page for the current warranty period, coverage, exclusions and claim procedure. Unauthorized hardware modification, improper charging, reverse-polarity power connection or operation outside the specified voltage range may affect warranty eligibility.
